PROJECTS
The Cycling Enthusiast - 2004
Ever wanted to
know what thousands of
cycling enthusiasts have
ridden, purchased and done
this past yearª and then compare it to two years ago? HereÆs
your chance.
This past year, Boulder Sports Research talked to over three thousand cycling enthusiasts, your core-customers and influencers of the larger cycling market. This research was done over the Internet to reach individuals who had been identified either through previous proprietary research or through specific web-site usage. Questions included:
Basic Demographics - such as gender, age, income, education, etc.
Cycling Habits - Where, how often and when do they ride? Are they riding more or less? Road vs. Mountain, groups vs. solo, etc.
Cycling Purchase Habits - When, where, and how often are they purchasing cycling gear? Does it vary between mail-order, Internet and specialty retailers?
Brands and Products - What brand(s) of bike(s) are owned/ridden? Other specific categories include helmets, aftermarket mountain and road wheels, suspension-forks and energy bars and gels.
Inspirations and Perceptions -
BSR also asked "psycho-graphic" questions
to see what inspires these people and how
they feel about cycling. Results of these
questions will be similar to our Cycling
Consumer Outlook.
Misc - Other questions include membership in advocacy/racing organizations, other sports participation, etc.
In order to provide the results of this research to as many companies as possible, regardless of size, BSR will be producing three levels of reporting, Core, Category Specific, and Custom.
Core 2004 - The CE2004 Core Report will provide several psychographic rider profiles, key findings and percentage results in graph format as well as our insights concerning certain questions. It will also provide comparative data from the CE2002 report where applicable. Cost - $600
Category Specific - This report will provide all the information in the Basic Report as well as the results for questions regarding specific product categories and brands. It will also provide comparative data from the CE2002 report where applicable. You can see your own tracking information and in addition, BSR will run cross-tabs to provide comparative data for your specific brand. In other words, how do you compare to the competition and the market in general? Cost - $800
Custom - BSR has been doing custom research for the cycling market for the past 10 years and offers over 45 years of combined industry knowledge. With our experience, we can tailor a report to your needs. By looking at the psycho-graphic results of thousands of cycling enthusiasts and the information regarding your specific brands, BSR can provide insights and recommendations to meet your needs. If you want to know about your specific brand, let us know. Cost - TBD
Core 2002 - The CE2002
Core report provides several psycho-graphic
rider profiles, key findings and percentage
results in graph format, dozens of section
and question quotes as well as our insights
concerning certain questions. Cost - $100
(We're happy to credit that amount towards
the purchase of any of the following reports)
